Gagi's Birthday!

Today was my Great Gran's birthday Gagi. Although this has not got a lot to do with my photography I still want to do a blog entry about it. Gagi was a very special lady and meant the world to me.

At Varsity the second years have been learning how to work with the old RB 6x7 cameras and today was the day we went to the Botanical Gardens to learn how to get the hang of shooting with them. In Durban on a Tuesday is pensioner’s day so there were many little old ladies wandering around and having scones at the cafe that is there. This reminded me of Gagi as her and I spent a lot of time together and we used to go to a little place in Pietermaritzburg called the "Duck Pond" similar to the surroundings of the Botanical Gardens.

So this was just a short entry in order take a little time to remember someone you love and miss...

I love you Gagi kiss for you!

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.
