7 Deadly Sins

Hi All!

As a third year class we have been given a year long assignment on the 7Deadly sins. As the year progresses we will have to do and look at different aspects of this assignment, and will be blogging about it quite often.

The final hand-in will be to incorporate 7different images that represent the 7deadly sins, all in one image, and all shot by myself. The image will be built up over the coarse of the year like i mentioned, but at each stage it will be critiqued by our lecturers. I will have to think of a title that will contextualize my image. In the end it will a printed image size A2.

For our first critique on this assignment we have been told to create and produce a "storyboard" on an A1 size piece of board/paper. Th storyboard should give an idea and my ideas of how I may want to portray the final image i.e: our findings gathered thus far on the sins, spider diagrams and definitions and so on.

Although for now we have been asked to follow what is known as "The Tasc wheel" pioneered by Belle Wallace.

http://www.mirandanet.ac.uk/associates/inspiration/tasc.htm (Accessed 2 March 2012).

We will be doing the first step on the wheel which is to "Gather and Organise" what we know about the 7 Deadly sins and to blog about it. Each sin will have a separate blog entry.

Blog soon

Critique

Hello!

Tomorrow is my first critique (crit) for third year and just to keep you all updated I wanted to post two of my images up that I will be handing in.

First up is my first specialist Advertising still life, I shot a bottle of Chivas Regal 18 year old.
(Little secret- the bottle is filled with tea!)

My next image is Urban Decay which is a run down building. I took the image in Durban next to Addington Hospital, it used to be the old children's hospital.

Here are two other images of different aspects of the run down building.

One of the toilets.                                     Some pipes just left to decay.

I hope you enjoyed the pics, hold thumbs that crit goes well...
Ps: What do you think of my new logo??

Appologies

Wow! It has been a while and as I look I see it has been almost a year since my last post I really must apologize for not being too interested in my blog and well... neglecting it!
This year I promise to keep everyone updated with my studies and experiences because this will be my year to shine and networking will be a way for great business.

I do want to inform you that I am still studying and my blog is also a way our lecturers will give us assignments so if you notice something weird and has nothing much to do with what i usually post, it may be an assignment we have been given via our blogs, but also feel free to communicate and ask what is going on...

This year I am in third year and I get to work on two specialists of my choice. I have chosen advertising still life and fashion lingerie/ swimwear and these will be my main assignments, although there will also be other assignments.

For our first critique on the first of March I have to shoot one of each of my specialists and a picture of Urban Decay.
Urban Decay a building or area that has been run down or that is decaying.

So hope everyone is now in the loop will be blogging again soon.
Here is one of my favourite images from last year just to prove I'm still a photographer :)
